Everyone got Happy Meals and we ate an adorable cake that my sister made (she's only 13! I'm so proud *sniff sniff*).
Then after everyone had their fun, we went to my dad's office building(random right? but it was actually perfect for this) and learned how to dance (like America's Next Dance Crew type) with an instructor. He was great and everyone got to try out some moves ( my friends and I go to a school with absolutely NO dancing, kind of like Footloose...but without Kevin Bacon aka god of 80's angst dancing).
My mom also set up a mini "Sweet Shop" since it was my sweet sixteen. (candy cigarettes, circus peanuts, bazooka gum, unicorn lollipops, mini charleston chews and tootsie pops)
It was SO much fun and everyone had such a good time. I was so happy with what my parents planned cause it fit me perfectly. Posted by Golden Calf at 4:35 PM 2 comments

I'll be turning sixteen soon and I'm quite anxious about it. The reason? I'm having a huge birthday party with all my friends but I have no idea what we're going to be doing. Back in December I had mentioned to my mom about something that I thought would be cool to have for my party but she said "Oh, we already planned your party." What?!? So I've been waiting all this time to find out what it'll be. Luckily I got to pass out the invatations today, so I got a bit of a clue.

I love dinner parties.
well... I've technically been to one that I'd really consider a dinner party (most parties I go to contain playing rock band, eating leftovers and watching lost), but I really do fantasize about them.
the 60's elevator music playing in the background,
the quirky conversation with even quirkier people,
(I just realized I'm pretty much describing the party in Breakfast At Tiffany's)
and the most important factor...
the perfect dinner party dress
So if you're luckier than me and have a witty party in your future and haven't a clue what to wear, look below for some inspiration:
I love this dress because it's perfect for both an outdoor or indoor party. But wearing this with necklace distracts the eye from the cute gray sides on the dress. I would probably pair this with a loose bun and some gold earrings. Click here for more information.
Now technically this is actually a pattern, not a dress, but I still love it. I plan on making it as soon as I finish my other projects (which I plan to post more on later) If you're interested in this FREE pattern, click here.
This dress is very retro and somehow looks like a tuxedo. It would look great with some red heels. Click here for more info on it.
